The Verdugo Voices Glee Club and Jr. Glee Club will open the festival at 10:30am on Saturday, July 19. The Glee Club started in the Fall of 2011 at Verdugo Hills High School with several performances on campus and in the community. Elliott Yamin has earned a prestigious reputation as both a world-class recording artist and a deeply compelling live performer. He is well known for his hit singles “Wait for You,” from his self-titled debut album, “Fight for Love” and “Can’t Keep on Loving You (From a Distance)” from this second album. His current CD release is “Let’s Get to What’s Real,” which he co-produced. He also co-wrote most of the heartfelt, soulful and powerful songs. AMERICAN IDOL fans will well remember Simon Cowell’s comment, from Season 5, describing him as… “potentially the best male vocalist.”
Melissa “MJ” Jimenez has toured and performed with Nile Rodgers & Chic, and Singer-Rapper Wyclef Jean. Featured on Jean’s “Touch Your Button” single, she also wrote “Selena” for his CD “Carnival Vol. II: Memoirs of an Immigrant.” Additional singer/songwriter credits include “Dance With Me,” from the motion picture FIRST DAUGHTER, directed by Forest Whitaker and TAKE THE LEAD (WANNA RIDE), from the movie starring Antonio Banderas. This year she was part of Team Usher and Team MJ on the 2014 Final Five of The Voice Season 6.
