The Watermelon Festival is pleased to welcome The Finalists – featuring Elliott Yamin (American Idol) and Melissa “MJ” Jimenez (The Voice) with Jack Mack & the Heart Attack Horns, as our headliners on Sunday at 6:00pm.
Elliott Yamin has earned a prestigious reputation as both a world-class recording artist and a deeply compelling live performer. He is well known for his hit singles “Wait for You,” from his self-titled debut album, “Fight for Love” and “Can’t Keep on Loving You (From a Distance)” from this second album. His current CD release is “Let’s Get to What’s Real,” which he co-produced. He also co-wrote most of the heartfelt, soulful and powerful songs. AMERICAN IDOL fans will well remember Simon Cowell’s comment, from Season 5, describing him as… “potentially the best male vocalist.”
Melissa “MJ” Jimenez has toured and performed with Nile Rodgers & Chic, and Singer-Rapper Wyclef Jean. Featured on Jean’s “Touch Your Button” single, she also wrote “Selena” for his CD “Carnival Vol. II: Memoirs of an Immigrant.” Additional singer/songwriter credits include “Dance With Me,” from the motion picture FIRST DAUGHTER, directed by Forest Whitaker and TAKE THE LEAD (WANNA RIDE), from the movie starring Antonio Banderas. This year she was part of Team Usher and Team MJ on the 2014 Final Five of The Voice Season 6.
Jack Mack & the Heart Attack Horns are considered an institution in the music business. They have continuously demonstrated a passion for the true soul of music, earning them the moniker: the hardest working band in soul business. Over the years they have created a unique sound that is timeless, and honed an exciting and high-energy live show. Their career has taken them from clubs, to recording sessions, to motion picture and television appearances, concert stages and festivals, and corporate performances around the world.
This is a not to miss…blockbuster…dynamite show for our closing night festivities.
